Satguru gnana siddhar Aalayam or temple is situated at Pudupattinam,a small village at the outskirts of the township of KAlPAKKAM.15 Kms south of the famous tourist resort of Mahabalipuram in the Kancheepuram district of Tamilnadu.
This temple is the first of its kind in India where 28 saints ,18 of them siddhars or great saints of TamilNadu,have been installed and consecrated. The consecration of the siddhars or saints imbibes their spiritual powers and thus the temple is sacred and has powerful vibration.
Siddhars are great yogis who by virtue of their penance and meditation attained spiritual powers.They were great seers who lived thousands of years ago in India. Their extraodinary powers were because of their dedication and control of their mind and body.They were supert human in their behaviour but lived a very simple and detached life,wandering far and wide most of the time in the forests and mountains.Their observations and findings are available in their writings. They are of great help to humanity.It teaches us the art of living,meditation and mind control and the study of natural medicine from herbs and leaves and ways to live a free from disease life. The foundation stone for this temple was laid on 24-08-1997 at 14:30 hrs and on 07-09-1997, the main temple door was consecrated.The Mahakumbabhishekam of this temple was performed on 01-02-1998 in the August presence of the Heads of various religious institutions,saints siddhars and yogis.Emminent persons,jurists,senior administrators from the government,executives and business men,teachers,professors and students and people from all walks of life attended and participated in the celebrations.
This temple is meant for the devotees.persons with any religious faith can pray here.There are no priest here.It is built with the joint efforts and contribution from the rich and the poor.It is the abode of love and Sathguru Gnana Siddhar Swamigal graciously bestows his blessings on all human beings in this world to laed a happy life.
The idol of SRI LA SRI SIDDHAR SWAMIGAL is the main deity.On either side at the front are the deities of pancha-mukha Vinayaga and pancha-mukha Anjaneya. Ther are ten steps leading to the sanctum sanctorum.
The idol of lord Dhkshinamoorthy is installed on the outer wall facing the south.
To the left of the main deity,alongside the combound wall,above eye level are lined up the idols of the other great seers,saints and sidhars.
A seperate shrine will be built soon which will be the abode of Goddess Rajarajeshwari,Goddess Lakshmi,GoddessDurga and Goddess saraswathi.The deties will be positioned in such a way so as to face the four different directions.Hence,the temple will have four door opening to the four deities.
To the right of the main deity alongside the combound wall is the mandapam. This will be used for meditation and any small social gathering,related to the temple and its functions.
This temple is immortal.It was conceived crores of years ago.It was predestined to be built.It will last for crores of years to come.The temple will spread its divine power into the vast open space.
